some improvements I wish

I have dowload on Nonags several free gallery for web utilities
and at last I found that Galleroo is the most close to my needs.
But some parameters seem to be internally fixed, and I have to make many manipulations on names of files and on html text, for obtains exactly what I want ( replace text with notepad, mass rename files, mass replace text )
What I hope ? :roll:
1) My photos are DSCFxxx.JPG , and you create individuals pages named DSCFxxx.JPG.html : I don't like this , I prefer DSCFxxxx.htm
2) I prefer extension ".htm" in 3 char , you generate ".html"
3) You have two levels directory structure /images/full and /images/thumb ; I want one level with names in my language ( I am French ) as /Photos and /Vignettes
4) The first page is named "index.html" , but in my web site, I do not want many index files, I want to have only one "index" that is the very first entry point. The problem is that this name is put in all pages with the link "home", and changing this require a mass replace.
5) My server, as 90% of servers in Internet, are on Linux, and this say "Case sensitive" , and .JPG is not the same as .jpg in Unix world ( :evil: this is horror for me ... ) ; I hope some options to convert to all Min or all Maj ...
6) my photos are from a 4 mega-pixels camera , size 2304 * 1728 pixels and I want to give them to my friends in their original size, without reduction. But in your individuals pages , this size create scrolling bar in IE windows (because most users have only 1024 * 768 screen). For remove this problem, I add two sub-tags in all html pages, on the <img> tag : width=800 height=600. I hope this as options params.

:?: comment :
a) I have use the Tavla XSL stylesheet.
b) I read in the forum on "style template file"
Perhaps you have templates :) that I have not discover now, and perhaps this can solve many of my needs ? :idea:

How would you prioritize your feature requests? Which are the most important to you?

I don't have real priority ;
But if you prefer, I think that the number 1) 2) 3) etc are from the hight to the low priority.

I've thought about it

I've thought about your requests and here are my conclusions:
1. Doing this is a mistake. Many people have movies and pictures in the same folder with the same name, the only difference is the extension. Removing the extension from the HTML file name means that these people will have messed up galleries.
2. It doesn't make sense to modify the stylesheet extensions as a parameter. If you want different file extensions, you can modify the XSL stylesheets to do so. If you prefer, I can do it for you, for a fee.
3. Of what use is this? The whole point of having an auto-generated gallery is to not have to worry about where the files go...
4. This is now fixed. You can download Galleroo again. In the "Really Advanced" tab you will find an option "Gallery Root" - if you want no link enter "none".
5. This is an interesting request. I'm still thinking about it. Can you provide an example of why it is useful?
6. To solve this, you can edit the XSL stylesheet. If you've edited the HTML files it is should not be difficult for you to do this in the XSL stylesheet, I can help you do it.

If I may comment on point (1), I personally think that this is to be left to the gallery author. In my case, for example, I am sure that all my filenames are unique, even without their extensions, and I prefer filenames with DSCXXX.html instead of DSCXXX.jpg.html (note that I nonetheless prefer "html" to "htm"). Anyway, with XSLT, zouriteman could do anything. To achieve what you request in (1), go in the file C:\Program Files\Galleroo\styles\Tavla\gallery.xsl, edit it and between the following lines:

Code: Select all

<xsl:variable name="thumbs-per-index" select="$rows-per-index * $columns-per-index" />

<xsl:template match="list">
Just insert the following:

Code: Select all

<!-- This function extracts the name of an image without its file extension -->
<func:function name="g:file-rootname">
  <xsl:param name="fullname" />
  <xsl:variable name="tmpname">
    <xsl:for-each select="str:tokenize($fullname,'.')[position()!=count(str:tokenize($fullname,'.'))]"><xsl:value-of select="."/>.</xsl:for-each>
  <func:result select="substring($tmpname, 1, string-length($tmpname)-1)" />
<!-- Cutter slide page output (with a filename restricted to the file rootname) -->
<xsl:template name="nico-emit-cutter-slide">
    <xsl:param name="html-file-prefix" />
    <xsl:comment>CUTHERE: <xsl:value-of select="galleroo:rplstr(concat($html-file-prefix, g:file-rootname(attrib/name)), '-', '\-')" />.html ?</xsl:comment>
Then, search the following string (near the end of the file):
and replace it by the following:

Then, please not that you use my hints only at your own risk (in particular, at the risk of destroying your Tavla stylesheet by a wrong editing), save your file and tr again.

It should work.
