17+ rating is ridiculous

17+ rating is ridiculous

Why does the dictionary have to have a 17+ rating? I have parental controls set on my ipod and itunes to block explicit content as well as applications that are 17+. So having the 17+ rating at the moment means I can't use the application. Is there any way this can be changed?

p.s I hope this email gets read by one of the developers in the company as I can't find anywhere to email them directly

I am the developer.

Apple refused to approve the latest version unless it was rated 17+ because it provides access to Wikipedia (like many previous versions). According to Apple, Wikipedia contains "frequent mature/suggestive themes".
There is not much I can do about this and I'm just as disappointed as you are.

Feel free to complain to Apple about their silly policies and their uneven application of said policies to various applications in the store.
