failed saving the movie??
failed saving the movie??
I'm having trouble saving any movie on the full version... It worked with the free version, but now I'm not able to save any video getting the message "Save error: failed saving the movie. There was a problem writing this asset because the data is invalid and cannot be viewed or played."
Please advise on this problem ASAP

Re: failed saving the movie??
I just tried these exact settings on my phone without a problem.
How much free space do you have on your device before you start the session?
I think the easiest way to check this is to attach the phone to your computer and see what iTunes reports.

Re: failed saving the movie??
Thanks for that. Can you also check how much free space is available on your device?

Re: failed saving the movie??
So far this problem is not occurring for me at all. I've performed several long sessions without any problems. I will continue trying but in the meantime perhaps additional information could be helpful.
1. Is the iPhone jailbroken?
2. Do you have any other app running in the background? A music player perhaps?
3. Are you receiving SMS/text messages or e-mail during the session?
3. Is the iPhone stationery or is it in a car?
4. Is the iPhone plugged in to a power source?
5. Is there anything else you think might be relevant?
Thanks.

Re: failed saving the movie??
I've made 3 attempts at using this app, twice it failed to save (said it was corrupt data or something)
First time was fine, but it was only 30 frames, the default settings.
Second time it failed, but the battery had run out... so when I went back into the app it asked if I'd like to save the previous session, of course I said OK but it failed. There was about 800 frames taken.
Third time I received a call about 300 frames in... I relaunched the app, tried to save and failed.
VERY ANNOYING.
I've chosen the setting "keep photos", so that at the very least I'll be able to create the video myself if it fails. I was really hoping for a more robust app to be honest as it's not so much the times when I can set up properly, enable airplane mode, have it plugged in to a power source... I wanted to be able to capture spur of the moment things... crowds, clouds, water... wherever life put me at the particular moment.
I'll keep playing, but a bit dissapointed for a paid app to have such a big problem like this.
iPhone 3GS, latest OS... bla bla bla

Re: failed saving the movie??
sonicoliver,
I appreciate your frustration. At the same time, you seem to be experiencing a different problem. In your case, the photo session is being abruptly interrupted as a result of a phone call or a battery dying out. I think I have a solution for these kinds of interruptions and I hope to submit a new version of the app to Apple in the near future to address these special circumstances.
