App download not working

Post by Rstark18 » Sun Aug 25, 2013 8:08 am

I went to update to 5.7.1 and it got stuck downloading (never actually started). I deleted the app and now can't re-download it. I think there is a problem with this version.

The download logic is completely outside the scope of TimeLapse. It's the same as downloading a song to your device.

One method of trying to get the device download logic to reset is to shut off and restart your device. After restart, before you attempt to download TimeLapse again, see if it is already installed or already downloading. If it looks like it is downloading, let it continue for a bit. If it doesn't seem to be making any progress, delete it and restart the device again. Once you restart the device there should be no trace of it and you should be able to download it afresh without any problems.

I'm actually having the same problem. Deleted the app, then tried to re-install. I initially had TimeLapse free then purchased the in-app upgrade. Connected to Wi-Fi, iPhone 5 & iOS 6.1.4

Error is 'TimeLapse - Free' could not be downloaded at this time.

I am still seeing the app in the store. There appears to be some outage at Apple.

I will contact Apple about this.

I'm also having the same issue. It shows on the Store as "artwork" missing. It won't update on the phone or within iTunes (v10). I also upgraded within the app so my copy still shows as "Free". The Pro version looks OK but I didn't want to take the chance on getting charged again.

Is there a way to let us access the Pro download directly?

I hope these screens help.

I like the app a lot. I just got the Galileo and my tests (before the update) have been good.

I have tried everything (I tried all those suggested things before creating this thread). It seems as though the copy Apple has is corrupt. Could you guys inform Apple about this. You'll get a much faster response being the developer than we will being end users.

It has nothing to do with a corrupt install or anything related to an upgrade from the last version. I tried loading it on an iOS device that it's never been on and I get the same results (no icon, will not download).
Also I notice this is affecting the PAID AND FREE versions.

I have contacted Apple.

Apple is most sensitive to the number of reports it gets, not who it gets them from. If you want to speed this process up I encourage all of you to file reports with Apple.

Dear Xyster,

I have the same problem, followed all instructions here but still not working.
How do I submit a report / complaint to Apple?

I am still trying to contact Apple about this. I've also resubmitted the app in the hopes of expediting Apple's attention to the matter.

I believe you can file a report with Apple here:

Same issue here. My Mmotr Galileo arrived today..

I'm a dev myself, but never had this issue. The only thing I can think of is that something went wrong with the packaging of the app. Maybe submitting a (minor) update, e.g. replacing the binary, might help? Review times are refreshingly short these days: http://reviewtimes.shinydevelopment.com/

Go go go! (I want to play with the Galileo)

I did exactly that along with an expedited review request to help it along. I have my fingers crossed.

Congrats on the Galileo. It's a fun toy!

App restored! I was able to easily upgrade the prior in-app purchase as well. Thanks!

Indeed it appears to be working for me as well now.

Everyone, please attempt to download again and please report back here if it works for you.

If it does download and work correctly for you, I'd like to take this opportunity to request that you write TimeLapse a review in the app store. This download problem, which is completely out of my control, garnered what I think are undeserved 1 star reviews that will inevitably hurt the sales of TimeLapse. App reviews are vitally important for independent developer success and this many 1 star reviews can kill an app in the store.

In summary, I'd like to continue developing TimeLapse and the best way you can help me do that is by writing a review. I have been working hard on the next major release (release date TBD) and have many more ideas in the pipeline. TimeLapse will only get better. Much better. If you help it happen.
